The Boss Knows Best

As You are always my Lord and capable of all things, my thwarted plans are really You lovingly pulling me to the best direction.

Help me to not be a bratty child, pulling against You, kicking and screamingly “why?” Thank you for leading me to your best which is always my best.

I fading Light

If the constant light of Christ seems dim or fading, it is because we’ve allowed lesser things to be the attention without carrying his light into the situation. While there are things we must look at, why should we set our light down instead of carrying Jesus forward with us to illumine our way?

This is a true fit – we have a journey through a dark world and he is everlasting light. We glorify him when we gratefully, not to mention intelligently, allow his blessings of light and love make all our steps clear and sure-footed.

Staying Close to Jesus

Though my heart longs for the heights of heaven and is burdened for those hurt by the world below, I must remain close to you on my own narrow path avoiding the siren call of short cuts and quick gains.

For what is heaven without you and you alone can bring salvation and healing to the hurt and dying I encounter. You are Lord of my journey lovingly planning each and every inch – help me to remain in sync with you.

Think On These Things

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Philippians 4:8 ESV)

The One Thing Needed

Rehearsing troubles in my mind, I experience them many times rather then only when they actually occur. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereofp so I focus on seeking the kingdom of heaven. I choose instead to sit at the feet of Jesus, abiding, resting. #JesusCalling Lk 10:41-42; Mt 6:33-24; Mt 11:28-30

Keep Your Heart From Sinking

Who can understand the turbulent waves that seek to drown them – would it hurt any less even if it could be explained? Yet, Jesus is there ready to lift us up when we cry out to him, “Help me, Lord”.

If we release our grasp on our need to understand, we can grab the hand of Jesus and receive peace instead. #JesusCalling

Saturated in Grace

Because of you, o Lord, I need not be ashamed of my emptiness. You have made it the optimal condition for you to fill me with Your Peace.

Because You have saturated our relationship in grace, there is nothing I can do or not do that can separate me from Your Presence.

The Gift of Today

Today is a precious, unrepeatable gift. Jesus planned it carefully just for me and will be my guide every step of the day. Even if the path gets steep or dark or dangerously walks near the edge of the precipice, the safest place is always by the Lord’s side. Ps 118:24; 1 Pe 2:21 #JesusCalling
